Forms that are actually in the game
Playable shifter forms with public gameplay or update notes are Attack, Armored, Female, Colossal, and Beast. Warhammer appears in older trailer-style discussion and on the Tybur Family, but a form showcase still marks it unconfirmed as a playable shift. Do not farm a Warhammer serum that the current notes do not list.
Update 3 added Female shifting and the Female raid. Update 4 added Colossal shifting and the Colossal raid. Update 5 added the Beast Titan. Each form uses its own serum.
Who cannot shift
Ackerman is explicitly unable to become a Titan shifter. Zoe is documented as unable to shift. One Colossal raid writeup also says Colossal Serum is incompatible with Zoe, Ackerman, and Helos. Check the serum prompt in game before you spend a long Aberrant grind on the wrong Family.
Yeager is the Attack Titan Family. Leonhart points at Female, Braun at Armored, Arlert at Colossal, Ksaver at Beast, and Tybur at the Warhammer stat line even if that form is not a confirmed shift. Fritz raises shifter stats in general rather than one nape.
Where serums drop
Serum guides limit Attack, Armored, Female, and Colossal serums to raids and Aberrant missions. A published chest table is:

Colossal Serum is described as Aberrant-only. Emperor's Trove is the better chest and costs an Emperor Key. A separate note says a raid chest gives three drops, or four with a +1 Drop gamepass. Those rates are community tables, not a line on the Roblox event listing.
Beast Serum is the Update 5 unlock item. Community pages point at Freedom content, including Freedom Outskirts, and at Waves. An exact Beast drop percentage was not in the sources read here. Treat any percentage you see on a showcase as unconfirmed.
How to use the form
Y shifts when the awakening bar is full, on the controller map. Save the transformation for the boss phase of a raid. Spending it on the first pure Titans leaves the phase that actually gates the chest.
Shifter skills cited across raid guides include Corkscrew Punch, Brutal Stomp, Uppercut, Roar, and Hardening. Colossal adds a much larger set: Footstep, Swipe, Eject, Atomic Ascension, Anguish, Seismic Shock, Tectonic Quake, Incendiary Volley, and Heatwave, plus mastery nodes. Atomic Ascension is the wide clear people mean when they call Colossal the raid farmer.
Vessels, added in Update 5, only affect Titan form and need maximum Resonance, R6. They are a second project after the serum, not a substitute for it.
A practical order
- Confirm the Family can shift.
- Farm Attack Serum first unless you already have a team clearing a later raid.
- Move to Armored or Female when that raid's mechanic is comfortable.
- Enter Colossal only after Prestige 2 and an A-grade average, which is the stated entry bar.
- Start Beast after Update 5 gear, not instead of learning nape cuts.
