What a Family changes
Your Family is the clan passive on the character. Rare and higher Families add always-on stats, and many add a Family skill. You can store more than one Family and switch them in the loadout, so one roll does not delete the others unless you choose to spin that slot away.
Ackerman cannot become a Titan shifter. Zoe is also documented as unable to shift. Fritz, Yeager, Reiss, Leonhart, Arlert, Braun, Galliard, Ksaver, and Tybur lean toward a specific Titan or toward party support. Read the family page before you spin a keeper away.
Where Spins come from
Codes are the free burst. Missions, the shop, and trading are the ongoing sources. One guide prices a single Spin in the shop at 100 Gems. Lucky Spins arrived as an Update 5 headline and as the FREECODE8 reward. The event listing does not say how a Lucky Spin differs from a normal Spin, so do not spend Robux on that difference until the game explains it.
Use 2x Luck potions from codes before a long roll session. UPDATE5 and GROUP10M potions last two hours, so redeem them when you can play, not when you are about to log off.
Odds you can cite, and odds you cannot
An Update 3 family page printed this table:
| Rarity | Listed chance |
|---|---|
| Common | 79.965% |
| Rare | 19.6% |
| Epic | 0.35% |
| Legendary | 0.06% |
| Mythical | 0.025% |
That page also said spinning off an Epic or better shows a warning, and that pity raises the Legendary chance to 5%. A separate guide says 400 Spins without an Epic or better improves the odds, and that weekends double Legendary and Mythical rates when an X2 FAMILY notice is on screen. Another prestige note adds 0.005% Legendary chance per Prestige.
Update 5 community pages explicitly say official odds are not published and that showcase percentages should be treated as estimates. Use the Update 3 table only as history. The attempt calculator on this site will not pretend those numbers are live.
What to keep
Keep Fritz if you want shifter stats, raid damage, cooldown reduction, and a party Gold and XP aura. Keep Helos for ODM and Thunder Spear damage. Keep Ackerman if you will stay on blades and never need to shift. Keep Yeager for the Attack Titan. Keep Reiss if you want cheaper upgrades and party XP. Epic Families such as Leonhart, Arlert, Braun, Galliard, Ksaver, and Tybur are worth holding when they match the serum you are farming.
Azumabito is a reasonable early ODM Family. Kruger, Smith, and Braus are temporary. The ten Common names, Reeves, Blouse, Inocenio, Munsell, Boyega, Ral, Bozado, Pikale, Hume, and Iglehaut, have no documented stat line and are reroll targets.
Shiki is listed as Secret. A 1 Nov 2026 family ranking says it cannot be obtained at the moment. Do not trade for a method this page cannot verify.
A safe roll session
- Redeem the current codes on the character that should receive them.
- Join the AoTR [PI] group first if you want the permanent +5% XP and Gold on the grind that pays for more Spins.
- Decide whether this slot is an ODM account or a shifter account.
- Spin until you hit a Family you will actually play for the next prestige.
- Stop when the warning for spinning off Epic or better appears, unless you already stored that Family elsewhere.
- Move the keeper into the loadout before the next session.
